Syracuse, NY -- Shanta Washington's jury last fall couldn't decide whether to convict her or not of stabbing a stranger to death.
But Washington, 36, decided not to risk another trial, pleading guilty weeks later to manslaughter in exchange for a 12-year sentence.
Today, Washington sobbed as she expressed remorse for what she'd done.
